GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will perform Hydrological & Hydraulic analysis associated with the design of civil engineering assignments, review and analyze data, prepare drainage reports and ensure compliance with FEMA, State and Local regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will consist of watershed studies, channel/storm sewer analysis and design, flood plain mitigation and dynamic flow modeling.

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct H&H engineering analysis and design on multiple projects with many complex features.
  • Interact with project clients
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models, evaluate results, and summarize results and recommendations to produce drainage impact studies, conveyance analysis, storage analysis, and other drainage improvements.
  • Provide QA/QC to ensure technical consistency and inclusion of appropriate documentation.
  • Provide technical input/review of project deliverables.
  • Prepare scope, budgets and proposals.
  • Responsible for financial tracking and invoicing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or greater in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Registered PE in the State of Texas
  • 6 to 20 years of professional experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design or related surface water engineering
  • Hydrologic/hydraulic modeling experience preferred includes both steady and unsteady modeling, 2D dynamic modeling is a plus
  • Ability to prepare and delivery client presentations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of hydrological principles, techniques, and procedures; of mathematics and statistics; and of the practical application of hydrology, water quality, and water management technologies.
  • Skilled in the use of the following software applications: GeoPak Drainage, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GIS, XP-SWMM, HY-8.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office software such as: MS Word, Power Point, Excel.
  • Ability to plan projects, to apply hydrological concepts and to communicate effectively.
